TENERIFE

One of the last European paradise islands, Tenerife, the largest among the Canary Islands, is now among the most popular holiday destinations among the Spanish and the British and the Germans. With air travel becoming one of the most popular means of travel, Tenerife has become easily accessible and more and more people are discovering the charms of this sub tropical island.

There are over 350 kms of coastline at this lovely island, there are tropical walks which can take you through forests and parks, there are designer shops and boulevards and of course, some renowned nightlife.

Pico Del Teide is Spain’s highest peak and it is surrounded by a landscape of rock formations in spectacular volcanic colours.

Santa Cruz De Tenerife boasts of a caranaval which can match the Rio carnivals in it’s intensity and gaiety.

Tenerife offers you a beach experience like no other place. You can choose between glittering five-star resorts complete with neon lights and DJ’s and spas, or you can opt to stay at smaller resorts which have quiet and serenity as their benchmarks.

Visitor Suggestions:

Things to Do: Tenerife is one of the best places in the world for scuba diving. Even if you are a novice, there are dives meant just for you.

Things to eat: There are plenty of local fish dishes in the Canary Islands - Cazuela de Pescado is a casserole made with fish and vegetables.

A great vegetarian option is Potaje de Berros, a dish made with chick peas.

When to visit:

Due to their southerly location, the Canary Islands have a warm year-round climate, with typical winter daytime temperatures reaching the lower to mid 20's, making the islands the warmest winter destination in all of Europe. This makes Tenerife an ideal winter holiday destination. In summer the temperatures are moderated by sea breezes, so whenever you go you will be sure of warm weather.
